New music for April; traditional tunes and original music for Saxophone quartet

Spring is fully underway now, and as a sort of spring cleaning such I have been uploading some new music - this month focusing on arrangements of traditional music and new compositions.

New arrangements to purchase this month include a new arrangement of 'Londonderry Air'. This is a gorgeous traditional Irish tune, well-known throughout the world as 'Danny Boy' after lyrics were set to it in the early 1900s. It's a very popular tune - I can still remember playing this for my Grade 3 Alto saxophone exam some twenty years ago! - and hopefully a nice addition to the saxophone quartet repertoire. Follow this link to see where you can purchase this arrangement.

This month I also finished a quartet arrangement of 'Eriskay Love Lilt', which I had previously arranged for a quintet for a fellow saxophonist's wedding. This is a lovely Celtic tune which, true to its name, lilts along beautifully. If you want more information about this arrangement, click here.

Finally there are some more of my original compositions available for sale as well!

'Meridian' is one of the earliest pieces. Inspired by tangos and rumbas, it has a Latin flavour and hopefully evokes the the sultry feeling of summer.

By contrast, 'Waves' is inspired by the sea and its ever-changing nature. It starts out quietly but as the piece porgresses the pace picks up and it rattles along dramatically until its conclusion.

Check back next month for more new music!
